Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We have again had our heads spun and our hearts pulled by the most recent violence in our country, this time the cruel and cowardly anti-personnel bombs set off at the Boston Marathon.
I encourage you to pray for those who died; for those who were injured physically, emotionally and spiritually; for those who experienced this violence through loved ones; and for those of us who witnessed another loss of peace and innocent lives through violence. I ask you to pray too for those who did this evil thing. May we all know God’s healing and mercy.
A pastoral letter from our Bishops on this latest expression of violence in our culture is linked here (click). I hope you will read it and find a way to fold something about it into your own prayerful response to violence.
