Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams to Resign

Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams will resign as head of the worldwide Anglican Communion, of which St. Anne’s and The Episcopal Church are part, at the end of this year after 10 years of service.  As Archbishop of Canterbury, Williams has served as spiritual leader to millions of Christians who are in communion with the See of Canterbury.  Williams will become dean of Magdalene College at Cambridge University in January.  No decision yet on a successor.
